Yet another FIFA World cup match, and this time Iran vs. Portugal. Yet again, Iran is the underdog in this match. So obviously I had to do a nail art to support “Team Melli” (the national team of Iran).
I started by painting my nails with OPI – Alpine Snow, which is chalk white cream finish. This nail polish is hard to work with as it is fast to dry, but also very streaky when applied. It took 3 coats to get it nice. I put a layer of Seche Vite top coat to make sure it was completely dry for the next step. After my nails were completely dry, I used masking tape in middle of the nail, painted the green and then the red. I finished with another layer of Seche Vite, and then placed the green diamond in the middle before the top coat was dry (did this one nail at a time, otherwise the top coat would be completely dry).
I did not want to bring religion in this nail art and write Allah in Farsi in the middle of the flag, so I opted for the stone which symbolizes the green revolution of 2009 and all the lost lives of the young demonstrators of the revolution. For this nail art I used the following polishes:
Appeal4 Nail booster – used as base coat
OPI – Alpine Snow
Ciaté – Stiletoo
Orly – Monroe’s Red
Seche Vite – Fast dry top coat
